| Green Card Lottery | Beginning 02nd October 2009, the US will begin taking application for the Green Card Lottery.
It’s good new for those who wish to work in the US as it does not
require a sponsor such as a family member or employer. The deadline for
application is the 30th November 2009.
50,000 diversity visa will be made available each year to citizens of
countries who have low rates of immigration to the US. Applicants are
chosen from a random selection process and must meet certain criteria.a
Every Green Card Lottery applicant must have at least a high school
education or its equivalent, or -- within the last five years -- have
had two years of work experience in an occupation which requires at
least two years of training or experience.
Both spouses may submit separate applications which can improve their chances of being selected.
Applying for the Green Card Lottery does not require the services of a
migration agent or immigration lawyer. However, it is very important to
have all of the details submitted correctly on your application, such
as the format of the digital portrait of the applicant(s).
The list of eligible of Countries is likely to be similar to last year's list. However, full details are yet to be announced.
